Performance at the Edge

Dr Rosie Klich

This lecture looks at forms of performance on the fringe of mainstream theatre such as Multimedia Theatre, Site Specific Theatre and Performance Art. We look firstly at a brief history of the key dynamics in twentieth century art and performance, before exploring the nature and impact of these unconventional theatre forms. The second part of the lecture examines case studies of companies, productions and events.

Rosie Klich, originally from Sydney, Australia, is a Lecturer in Drama and Theatre Studies at the University of Kent. Her research focuses on the area of Multimedia Performance and she is involved in both national and international research organisations. She is currently investigating manifestations of ‘intermediality’ and ‘interactivity’ in performance.
