Who for?

This two-day course is designed for people who are within a year or so of retirement from their full-time employment or occupation. It will provide an opportunity to acquire useful information on the problems, as well as the new openings, facing those about to retire. A wide range of topics will be covered and there will be time also for advice on any specific items, which may concern individuals.

The courses are led by Audrey Mathews, a Trustee and Fellow of the Pre-Retirement Association. Audrey Mathews, who has a background in research into retirement issues, has organised and chaired pre-retirement courses all over the country for the last 25 years. A founder member of the Kent Retirement Association, she has been a director since 1991. She has been heard on Women's Hour, Regional TV and, most recently, on BBC Radio 4 on retirement issues. The courses also include contributions from other experts in retirement and financial planning.

Location

All courses and workshops take place on the University campus in Canterbury. Parking is available in the college car park and a day permit will be supplied with your joining instructions two weeks before the start of the course.

Payment details

The fee for Planning for Retirement is £150 per person.

Payment may be made either at the time of registration or on receipt of our invoice. Invoices will be sent out three weeks before the commencement of the course.

Cancellations and withdrawals: in order to cover administrative costs, it is necessary for us to make a charge for withdrawals and cancellations as follows:

more than four weeks before the start of the course: £55.00
less than four weeks but more than ten working days: £75.00
less than ten working days: full fee payable, no refund.
