The University of Kent Malaysia Alumni Association was launched at a dinner on 1 April 2011 at the Hotel Equatorial Kuala Lumpur, hosted by Pro-Vice-Chancellor Professor Alex Hughes. A Committee was formed and Dato' Johari Razak agreed to be the first President. The first Committee meeting was held on 23 June 2011 at the Royal Selangor Club.

Malaysia Alumni Dinner 2012

The 2012 Malaysia Alumni Dinner was held at the Crown Plaza on Friday 20 April. Hosted by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor DameJulia M Goodfellow, the event was attended by approximately 90 alumni and friends of the University of Kent in Malaysia. The dinner was also featured in The Star on Tuesday 8 May.
