SUMMARY:Canterbury Players - The Crucible
LOCATION:Theatre, The Gulbenkian, The University of Kent, Canterbury, Kent, CT2 7NB
DESCRIPTION:Miller based this play on records of a series of Witch trials in Salem, Massachusetts in 1692. The core of his version of these events is a love triangle involving John and Elizabeth Proctor and their former servant Abigail Williams.\n\nAlong with a number of Salem girls, Abigail has been seen dancing in the forest and is accused of practicing witchcraft. She then becomes chief accuser in a witch-hunt and singles out the innocent Elizabeth Proctor, hoping to supplant her as Proctor’s wife. Things, however, do not go as planned.\n\nhttp://www.kent.ac.uk/gulbenkian/Theatre/shows/2012/june/2012-06-13-14-15-the-crucible.html
