Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy 15
There’s a huge buzz building around this spy thriller from Let The Right One In director Tomas Alfredson, whose adaptation of the John Le Carré novel will inevitably bear comparison to the BBC’s adaptation, the celebrated 1970s TV series starring Alec Guinness.
All signs point to positive, with the recently released trailer – as slick, tense and rigidly British as you’d hope – showcasing the film’s 100% stellar cast. Set in the 1970s during the Cold War, Gary Oldman (Nil By Mouth) stars as George Smiley, a semi-retired MI6 agent doing his best to adjust to a normal life when he’s ordered to uncover a Soviet mole in the “Circus”, the highest echelon of the Secret Intelligence Service; with Colin Firth (The King’s Speech), Tom Hardy (Inception), Mark Strong (Sunshine), Benedict Cumberbatch (TV’s Sherlock), Toby Jones (Infamous) and John Hurt (The Elephant Man) as just some of the voices surrounding him.
