David Cronenberg’s (Eastern Promises, A History of Violence) latest is the fascinating story of the intellectual tussle between famed psychoanalysts and friends, Carl Jung (Michael Fassbender – Hunger) and Sigmund Freud (Viggo Mortensen – A History of Violence).
Confident and youthful, Jung is making great strides in his field when he encounters repressed Russian heiress Sabina Spielrein (Keira Knightley – Atonement), who at first seems an exemplary test patient for his experimental techniques – though her beautiful, kinky appeal soon causes him to ditch his professional ethics.
