The Kent Law Alumni Fundraising Group is organising a sponsored walk from Canterbury to Whitstable along the Crab and Winkle Way to raise money for the Kent Law Campaign (www.kent.ac.uk/lawcampaign) and have set themselves a target of £5,000 which will be matched pound for pound by the University.
The Crab and Winkle Way is a terrific 7.5 mile (12km) mainly traffic-free route between Canterbury and Whitstable. Opened in 1999, it forms part of National Route 1 and takes its name from the railway line that once ran between the two towns until 1952. It’s mostly flat, running partly on the old railway path, but also on woodland and Forestry Commission tracks.
Once in Whitstable, celebratory drinks will be provided!
The volunteer group is appealing for people to take part in this event to raise money for this important cause and ask that you contact alumni@kent.ac.uk to register.
Sponsorship packs and T-shirts will be provided and there is no minimum sponsorship amount required - whatever you manage to raise will be fantastic. Thank you!
