ACS SCHOLARSHIP
The Society participates in various projects designed to encourage the development of 'Anglo-Catalan' research and to facilitate the movement in both directions of students and young scholars.
Our own Scholarship used to be awarded annually to enable a young Catalan researcher to work in this country for a short period on a topic which was preferably but not necessarily of specific Anglo-Catalan interest.
The Society cooperates closely with the Institut d'Estudis Catalans in forwarding candidates for several bursaries intended to initiate significant new Catalan research by non-Catalans. At a higher level, the Society is closely involved in administration of the scholarships instituted to commemorate our founder Josep M. Batista i Roca, which are awarded by the Generalitat for doctoral and post-doctoral research, by Catalan and British scholars, in the Humanities and Social Sciences.
To encourage interest among British undergraduates, the Fundació Congrés de Cultura Catalana awards every year up to six grants for attendance at Catalan summer schools, an operation which is coordinated by the Society.
Please note that competitions for other scholarships will be announced on this page when information becomes available.
