Real Meal Deals
With our Real Meal Deal scheme you can pay in advance for your Monday to Friday meal costs for the whole academic year. This represents a saving of 25-30% over the cost of paying for individual meals. To give you even better value, we've managed to hold 2012/13 meal deal costs at last year's prices!
Meals can be taken in either of the catering facilities in Rutherford College:
- Rutherford dining hall is open each day and serves a wide choice of food for lunch and dinner, including vegetarian options and salads.
- Or you can grab a quick lunch from our state-of-the-art outlet Bag It (located in Rutherford dining hall), which offers freshly made sandwiches, baguettes, paninis, salad pots, snacks and confectionery.
The Real Meal Deal scheme has two options:
Package A (£620) - this entitles you to one meal (either lunch or dinner) with one drink,for each weekday of the academic year. You can choose food/drink up to the value of £5.50 for each meal but the actual cost to you will be £4.13 per meal, giving you a saving of around 25%.
Package B (£1155) - this entitles you to two meals (lunch and dinner) each with one drink, for every weekday of the academic year. This package also allows you to choose food/drink to the value of £5.50 per meal but the actual cost to you will be £3.85 per meal, saving you around 30%.
You will be able to use your Real Meal Deal from the first day of term, Monday 24 September 2012.
To get the best value from the scheme, make sure that you complete your purchase before Friday, 21 September 2012.
Whilst the Real Meal Deal will still be available for purchase after 24 September, please note that we cannot refund the cost of any missed meals for packages purchased after that date.
KentOne card activation
Your meal deal entitlement will be added to your KentOne card.
If you are a new student and purchase your package online in advance, your card should already be activated when you arrive on campus.
If you are a returning student or purchase a package after receiving your KentOne card, you will need to contact our Accounts Supervisor, Tim Warren, so that he can activate your card for you.
