Karen Goffin

Responsibilities

Karen's current responsibilities include University governance, the University's principal bodies (Secretary of Council, Senate and Court and Council committees) and health and safety (Chair of the Registry Health & Safety Committee). She is also the Head of the Central Secretariat and the Equality and Diversity champion for religion and diversity.

Career

A graduate of the University of Durham, Karen’s first post at the University of Kent was in the Faculty of Social Sciences. After moving to central administration Karen was appointed Head of the Central Secretariat in 1990 and Secretary of the Council in 2005. Karen has a Kent MA (in Management, awarded in 1989) and pre-Durham she held posts in British Rail and British Telecommunications.
