Denise Everitt, Director of Finance and Commercial Services

Responsibilities

In 1995, Denise was appointed Director of Finance at the University of Kent and has since taken on a broader range of responsibilities since becoming Deputy Vice-Chancellor in 2008. Areas of responsibility include Commercial Services, legal services, Value for Money and Internal Audit. The following department heads report to Denise:

Denise is also the Equality and Diversity champion for age.

Career

A graduate of the University of Kent, Denise qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Coopers and Lybrand (now PwC) in 1982. She then spent a further 5 years in the accountancy profession, working in both national and local firms in a General Practice role, advising small and medium sized businesses. Denise moved into the University sector and became the first internal auditor at Cranfield University, Bedford, in 1989. After a few months, Denise was appointed Financial Controller, a post she held for 5 years before moving to Kent.

Denise is a Governor at the Spires, Folkstone and Marlowe Academies, where she chairs the Finance Committees.
