The Canterbury Waits and Maridadi Singers and Drummers
Photographs by Robert Berry
The mysterious sounds of Shawms, a sacbut and curtals played 'dance hits' of the 16th century as the 'Canterbury Waits' took to the Registry Garden stage. The energetic Maridadi Singers and Drummers, conducted by dynamic Anita Memmott, delighted an already engaged crowd with their rhythmic talent.

Dancing
Photographs by Martin Levenson
From 8pm DJ Lefty commandeered the main bandstand to help people dance the night away al fresco with dance classics for all ages! Many dancers took to the stage as well as continuing to feast from the BBQ and beer tent, both provided by Kent Hospitality.
Prom - University Chorus, Orchestra and Chamber Choir
Photographs by Martin Levenson
Whilst people danced on the slopes outside to DJ Lefty, 480 people attended an end-of-term prom concert in Eliot Hall, conducted by Susan Wanless and Dominic del Nevo, with music from the University Orchestra and Chorus, and the University Chamber Choir. Soloists Alison Rae Jones (Soprano) and Bradley Daley (Tenor) sang 'Libiamo' (the drinking song) from Verdi's La Traviata among others, and can-can girls danced to Offenbach's overture from Orpheus in the Underworld.
In keeping with tradition, towards the end of the concert, Susan Wanless invited a child from the audience - Katie Paige-MacLean – to conduct the orchestra.
The concert ended in style with a red, white and blue balloon release.
