In honour of the 40th anniversary of the University of Kent,
graduates of the congregation ceremony held in Canterbury Cathedral
on 12 July processed through the streets of Canterbury. |

capsule
On Tuesday 19 July a 40th anniversary time capsule was buried
on the University Canterbury campus by year 4 school children
from Blean Primary School. |

On 15 September 2005 nearly 200 former staff and students of the
University of Kent attended the Alumni London reception at the House
of Commons.

alumni in Hong Kong organised a gala dinner in October to celebrate

17 Kent alumni who are now living or working in Tokyo celebrated
the University’s 40th anniversary with a champagne buffet
dinner in Japan’s prestigious Keio Plaza Hotel. |

November the Sports Centre hosted a day like no other - a Giant
Inflatable Games. |

Alumni reception in New York
On the evening of 10 November 2005, 45 Kent alumni who are now
living or working in the United States, met at the prestigious
Cornell Club for a 40th anniversary champagne reception. |

Medway Building opening
On Wednesday 16 November invited guests as well as Medway staff
and students braved the icy cold winds to view the official
opening of Kent’s academic building on the Medway campus.
